Project Management Maturity in Renovation and Remodelling Construction Firms

Project Management Maturity Models (PMMM) are considered practical tools to deal with poor (PM) performance, an issue that concerns academics and practitioners. However, the models exist something close “one size fits all”. This means those might not be suitable for activity sectors specific requirements, such as construction, in particular, renovation remodelling construction firms. The present research proposes a PMMM assess PM capabilities of Portuguese Project-Based Firms (PBF). To achieve this goal, authors developed documental research, followed by exploratory through qualitative analysis. researchers conducted semi-structured interviews performed content analysis fully transcribed interviews. Compared literature review’s findings, results made it possible find closure on previous indicated two have best fit assessment project PBFs: OPM3 from PMI MMGP-Prado. Based latter has PBF. model needs adjustments context organisations. article presents new firms based obtained results. Furthermore, regarding PM, is among few studied companies. Unlike large companies, these small organisations do target research.
